Southeast Ohio Youth Mentoring (SEOYM) is looking for someone to help lead our youth programs across Athens, Washington, and Meigs counties. This is a key role on a small team, with a big impact.

What the Program Director Does

- Supporting our staff and volunteers who work directly with youth
- Keeping things organized: schedules, partner relationships, data tracking
- Helping plan and improve programming (like summer activities, school-based mentoring, and special events)
- Making sure we’re meeting our goals, grants, and safety requirements
- Building relationships with schools, families, and community partners
Who We’re Looking For
- Have worked in a youth program, school, or nonprofit (2–5 years experience)
- Feel comfortable leading others and managing projects
- Can build strong, respectful relationships with lots of different people
- Are organized and know how to juggle multiple priorities
- Care deeply about equity, inclusion, and the wellbeing of rural kids

Internships
Southeast Ohio Youth Mentoring does not currently offer paid internships through our agency. However, we do welcome interns through other agencies and organizations.
We regularly work with Ohio University and other schools with students pursuing degrees in psychology, social work, education, and related fields. These placements are ideal for practicum or internship requirements and offer meaningful, hands-on experience in youth mentoring and nonprofit work.

We also serve as a host site for the Appalachian Children’s Coalition (ACC), supporting high school and college interns interested in mental and behavioral health careers.
