Youth In Leadership
The Youth in Leadership (YiL) School Mentoring Program pairs high school students with at-risk elementary students for structured, one-on-one mentoring. All sessions take place on school grounds during the school day or after school and are coordinated by Southeast Ohio Youth Mentoring (SEOYM) staff.
The program’s curriculum focuses on building self-confidence, strengthening social-emotional skills, and encouraging positive decision-making. Younger students benefit from consistent, supportive relationships with older peers, while high school mentors gain valuable leadership experience, improved communication skills, and a deeper connection to their school community. |

HVCRC Mentoring Program
The HVCRC Mentoring Program is a group-based mentoring initiative that focuses on supporting non-violent male felony offenders under the age of 18 who reside at the Hocking Valley Community Residential Center (HVCRC) in Hocking County. This program is a collaborative effort between staff and volunteers to create a positive, structured environment where youth are encouraged to grow, reflect, and plan for their futures.
Rather than traditional one-on-one mentoring, this program operates in a group setting. Staff and volunteers work together to guide residents through a variety of planned activities, interactive lessons, and open discussions. The goal is to provide these young men with practical life skills, personal development tools, and a sense of accountability—while also lifting them up with encouragement, consistency, and care. |
How to Get Involved
If you're interested in contributing to a meaningful program that supports young men in a critical stage of their lives, and you can commit to bi-weekly sessions, we encourage you to reach out. |
