We've all had people who were important in our lives and who helped us to reach our potentials at various times. It's not always a single individual but sometimes a montage of people who listened to us, provided us with a kind word or kick in the behind when we needed it. Some of them simply led by example and we were inspired by them. In all these cases, we became better because we connected in some way with someone whom we admired and respected. Here at Southeast Ohio Youth Mentoring (formerly Big Brothers Big Sisters of Athens), we are committed to helping to find and support mentors who want to provide these same inspirations to children and youth in our region. Please join us, support us, teach us, learn from us. As this blog is a new feature, please stop back every week as we explore different aspects of mentoring and the mentoring relationship. Also, please comment so that we can learn from each other.
